Snowy with a chance of murder by Jessica Fletcher & Barbara Early.

Very well written, again, with good physiological and philosophical thinking... And Alice's character is nice and decent. While her upbringing is scary and devoid of real friendship and attachment. But, again, she presents a real hope for a much better quality of life.
