Unfortunately, it's difficult to read for a regular person. The sentences are either (many a time) incomplete or full of specific political language that is not familiar to people, however educated they might be. And whining and complaining is constant, that I do not appreciate. I do not recommend this memoir.
AS WISE PEOPLE ONCE SAID: "YOUR TONG IS YOUR WORST ENEMY" AND : "A WORD IS LIKE A FREE BIRD. ONCE LET OUT, DOESN'T RETURN". BUT THIS PRESIDENT DID LOVE HIS COUNTRY WITH HIS WHOLE HEART AND SOUL, AS LET US PRAY, THE FUTURE ONES WILL DO AGAIN, ONE DAY !
The beginning and center parts of "Pegasus" are very strong in their historic background and effect of chrystal night of 1936 pre-war Germany, depicting a Jewish family that lives and thrives in Austria ...these parts of the book are colorful, personal and duly detailed. I would stop the story at the point of their arrival to the New York City at the circus with their pride horses. And their successful work and existence there... As a final chapter goes too far beyond our imagination and the "crop" of new offspring of the generations, who once lived in peaceful and beautiful Austria.
The novel by Dan Andreasen is flat, not interesting at all. It doesn't celebrate life at any time, even when there is not obvious trouble in site...it is monotonous. Even though, there are good positive events and changes that are taking place in the family of Caroline, her widowed mother and siblings, when her mother is to be about married again to a good man. There is no feeling of gladness and happiness in the book.
THIS BOOK IS ALMOST IN ITS ENTIRETY CONSISTS OF STORIES TOLD BY REAL WOULD BE MOTHERS OF TWINS...WHO ARE SCARED ABOUT THEIR TWIN BIRTH, MANY DO NOT EVEN WANT THE BABIES BECAUSE OF THE PAIN THEY MIGHT GO THROUGH...THERE IS SOME PROFANITY BY FUTURE MOTHERS OF TWINS TOWARDS THEIR HUSBANDS IN THE BOOK. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS MATERIAL TO ANY EXPECTANT PARENT- BE IT MOTHER OR DAD !
