Heeeere is Ed !

Written from the bottom of the heart...honest, hard-working man from the young tender age and always ,trying to find his niche and keep it to enjoy and ease the life for self and family. Material is entertaining though sometimes not fully coherent because of type of of speech, some professional slang and situations that are hard to recognize (where, when and what). And that's the problem. Some personal facts come to a tunnel dim light only at the end of the book. Often episodes of life and work events jump from later years to earlier ones, and back, making it difficult to enjoy the reading. Otherwise, the book is full of humor, people we knew and still enjoy on TV at the evenings...

Druckerman, Pamela

Bring up the baby. In the mixed up way.

Obnoxious, at times, funny, not realistic and overall, waste of time.

Ask your child's doctor when in need.

Extremely bossy, patronizing wording and attitude by the author makes you want to stop reading the book.... No pronounced passion, no soft word offered here. I am not a parent, per: say, but a grandparent and a mother of an adult son with big family of his own... I just love to read and learn more about raising and giving a good safe and loving environment for children here, in the States in comparison to Europe. And I know, such good normal homes do exist. And when there are some troubling issues, there will be solid experienced sources to go to. But this book (to my view ) is not the answer. Also, it doesn't offer any photos, illustrations to make it less harsh.

The Atlas of Languages.

I have just started reading this massive work about history and interconnections of major Languages in history of men. The tom is truly very well and thoughtfully written by a group of people who not only are highly knowledgeable and intelligent in their desire to be resourceful, but truly passionate ! It's a rare find in any field of interest or science...And I am "crazy" about languages on the whole and major European major few, in particular. And the history of development of it around the globe. In some cases I disagree with authors, but their points of view are still interesting to me to debate on. This is the first work that I am truly enjoying so far. And it's well-illustrated, also.

Van't Hul, Jean,

All about art...

"The Artful Parent" is all about teaching art, first-to parents and then- to their children. That's all. Just one destination and one goal. While true art is everywhere: in Nature scenery, in people who make beautiful and needed things with their hands or being along with others creating something special together or just talking. All of that is ART ! And not only colors, at all. However, this material is nicely assembled and truly helpful. Each page has great colored photos of children among their families, and also lists all materials needed for work. The age of children who are capable to Hold the brush and to color are over estimated (in majority of cases). And that is a minus. But, overall, the book is entertaining for adults.
