A little slow paced in his childhood years
Excellent to tell you exactly how Putin rose to power.
The best quote - "Cities raise children, Leningrad raised monsters" in the ashes of a Leningrad under a 872 day seige. Incredible book especially early years. Written by a dissident. I read it twice which I never do

Disgraced knight accompanies young girl with powers to fight the "fake" Pope at the second Vatican set up in France. End battle was a bit of a letdown
Best of Chris Buehlman and that is saying a lot
Nice non-killing vampires live in NY subway lines encounter some child vampires who they try to help adjust. Very well-written and great story. Nice twist at end. If you want the best vampire novels - Salem's Lot, I am Legend, Interview with the Vampire, and Lesser Dead in no particular order
